The reason why I entered this race is simple: Alabama is home. Itâs where I was educated from kindergarten to law school and where I was inspired by my parents, Michael and Vivian Figures, to pursue a life of public service. This race is special, {NAME}. Folks in my District have been subjected to gerrymandering my whole life â but, after federal judges selected new congressional lines for Alabama, residents who have gone too long without proper representation in Congress now have a chance to elect a leader that will prioritize their needs. From serving as a law clerk on the federal court, to working for President Barack Obama in the White House, to serving as an advisor in Congress, I gained priceless experience in how to fight for and serve our community.
