Changes to what your points are worth Currently, every 35 points earned is worth RM1. From 1st February, every 25 points earned can be used to get RM1 off your future redemption reward. When these changes come into effect, we will automatically adjust your existing points balance (including any pending points) accordingly. So, while you will see fewer points in your account on 1st February, please be assured that the redemption value will be the same. While we make these changes, members will not be able to redeem points from 12:30pm to 6:30pm MYT on 1st February 2022. Changes to how you can earn points We will also be changing the way that you earn points in the programme. The table below shows how points are currently earned for completed eligible bookings and what the corresponding changes will be: Eligible bookings made up to and on 31st January 2022 Eligible bookings made from 1st February 2022 All members earn two points per RM5 spent on eligible stays, activities and packages. All members will earn one point per RM5 spent on eligible stays, activities and packages. Silver members earn a flat 10% bonus in points on eligible stays, activities and packages. Silver members will earn one bonus point per RM5 spent on eligible stays, activities and packages.* Gold members earn a flat 30% bonus in points on eligible stays, activities and packages. Gold members will earn two bonus points per RM5 spent on eligible stays, activities and packages.* Silver members earn 10% bonus points and Gold members earn 30% bonus points on eligible flight bookings. Silver and Gold members earn one point per RM525 spent on eligible flight bookings. Silver and Gold members will no longer earn bonus points on eligible flight bookings. Silver and Gold members will still be able to earn one point per RM25 spent on eligible flight bookings. All members earn points on the tax and fees component of their eligible stay. All members will no longer earn points on the tax and fees component of their eligible stay. Changes to how you can move through membership tiers We aim to offer a single simpler path towards reaching higher membership tiers. Currently, Expedia Rewards members’ progress to Silver or Gold tiers is based on the number of room nights stayed or how much they have spent in a calendar year on eligible bookings. From 1st February, you can collect ‘Trip Elements’ on eligible bookings to help you reach Silver or Gold tiers (subject to a minimum spend of RM100 per Trip Element). This means more components of your trip could get you closer to a higher tier. Please click here for more [information]( about this change in our FAQs, including examples showing how these Trip Elements can be collected. We understand that you may have been travelling less than usual this year, and so for our existing Silver and Gold members, we have extended your tier until 28th February 2023, and Blue and Silver members can still achieve the next tier throughout the remainder of this year. We will be converting your room nights and spend between 1st January 2022 and 31st January 2022 into Trip Elements. What’s staying the same? Members can still save 10% or more on select hotels with our member prices. Silver and Gold members will still get perks at more than 9,000 VIP Access™ properties worldwide, and all members will still earn bonus points with double base points on eligible bookings on our app and three times the base points at VIP Access properties.* Opting out If you’d prefer to opt out of the Expedia Rewards programme, you may do so by closing your account [here](. Please be aware that if you close your account, you will no longer have access to your account statement information, all your member benefits will be forfeited, and any accumulated points (including any pending points) will immediately expire. You can use your accumulated points up to the time that you close your account. You will still be able to book on Expedia Malaysia as a guest, even if you close your account. If you change your mind in the future, you will always be able to create a new free Expedia Rewards account, although you won’t be able to reactivate your closed account or transfer any expired points. If you decide to stay with Expedia Rewards, please note that if you do not earn or redeem any points for 18 months, your points will expire. For more details on all these changes, please visit our [FAQs]( and the programme [terms and conditions]( which will apply from 1st February 2022. Once again, thank you for your continued loyalty. Sincerely, Your Expedia Rewards team *Bonus point offers are calculated on the base points earned for an eligible booking only and are not calculated on any bonus points earned for being Silver or Gold members, or otherwise.
