Tastefully Curated Collection of Paintings from India  [Click here]( to view in browser.   [Logo](  [Oils]( [Folk Art]( [Hindu]( [Mughal]( [Large]( [Oil Paintings]( Sheshashayi Vishnu Worshipped by Gods As shown here, Brahma dwells in the lotus arousing from Vishnu’s navel and goddess Lakshmi (Vishnu’s consort) resides in elegance on the pedestal in the front. The two asuras Madhu and Kaitabha who arose from the dirt in Vishnu’s ear are painted in green in the front on either side; various Vishnu’s avatar’s can be seen scattered around with the panel of various other gods and rishis standing in obeisance behind him. [Goddess Rajarajeshwari (Tripura-Sundari)]( [Goddess Rajarajeshwari (Tripura-Sundari)]( Oil on Canvas Artist: Anup Gomay [Lord Krishna Shows Vishvarupa to Arjuna During Mahabharata War at Kurukshetra (Gita Updesha)]( [Lord Krishna Shows Vishvarupa to Arjuna During Mahabharata War at Kurukshetra (Gita Updesha)]( Oil Painting on Canvas Artist: Anup Gomay [Miniature Paintings]( Devi Worshipped By Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva Kailash Raj has portrayed his best skills in this painting; framed in a sober dark floral border that contrasts with the entire light colored background of the painting. Pictured in a vast sandy land that meets the bright sky at horizon, Devi sits on a full blooming lotus on her distinctively styled royal throne, covered by a large parasol at the top; garbed in strikingly colored attires, she holds her popular weapons- chakra, bow, trident and a conch in all her four hands respectively to eradicate stress, sufferings and sins and award people with grace, bravery and courage; ornated with precious jewels and the divine crown, stone studded and decorated with a crescent moon at the side. Rama Durbar Lord Rama and Sita are clothed in divinely colored attires of yellow and orange respectively and Rama holds his iconic bow and arrow in his hand. Lord Hanuman, their greatest bhakt, can be seen as paying obeisance to them; attired in a splendid green striped short dhoti and a red kamarband. Lakshman (the one in centre, attired in red), Bharata and Shatrughan (either of the two sides) stand behind the Lords, fanning them, as a gesture of their respect and gratitude. The black bear standing behind Lord Hanuman is Jambavana, who was created by Brahma and next to him in white is Sugreeva; they assisted Rama in his struggle to fight against Ravana. [Heramba Ganesha with Riddhi and Siddhi]( [Heramba Ganesha with Riddhi and Siddhi]( Water Color on Paper Artist: Kailash Raj [Mahabali Hanuman Carrying Mount Dron Full of Sanjeevani Herbs]( [Mahabali Hanuman Carrying Mount Dron Full of Sanjeevani Herbs]( Water Color On Paper Artist: Kailash Raj Panchamukha Shiva The ten-armed Shiva carries all his implements with Trident and Damru being the main of his iconography. He has the Vasuki serpent coiled around his neck, third eye and a crescent moon on forehead. Panchmukhi Shiva or Panchanana Shiva combines in him Tatpurusha, Vamadeva, Aghora, Sadyojata and Ishan representing wind, water, fire, creative function and space which are the five cosmic elements and space. Sita Haran - Abduction of Sita by Ravana Dark Yellow background influences dual purpose of reflecting the setting sun of consciousness and its vibrant shade beautifully highlights other colors and figures. Lush green trees and small bushes that grow at the bottom clearly indicate that the Ravana’s rath is flying high in the air, so that no one can reach it. Painter has realistically painted Jatayu’s feathers and tail in multilayers and the ten-headed Ravana and Sita are garbed in a bright color palette. [Radha and Krishna - Illustration to the Gita Govinda]( [Radha and Krishna - Illustration to the Gita Govinda]( Water Color Painting On Paper Artist: Kailash Raj [Enthroned Ganesha]( [Enthroned Ganesha]( Water Color on Paper Artist: Kailash Raj Radha Krishna in Love They stand here in a playful and extremely romantic posture where Radha is in front of Krishna carrying his baasuri (flute) in the right hand and left holds Krishna’s hand, as if pulling him to come closer. Krishna feels delighted at this gesture of his beloved and lovingly turns Radha’s face towards him; that intense eye contact outspeaks every beautiful feeling they have for each other. Here the painter has depicted Radha’s inner feelings of wanting Krishna to cuddle her and woo her by his gestures and naughty tantrums, instead of playing the flute.
