When Charlie Vallor got back from Vietnam in 1971, he was told not to wear his Marine Corps uniform because of the protests and anger that veterans were greeted with when they returned. Buzz off, he would say, in not exactly those words. And even a half-century later, as he was taking part in the welcoming ceremony for The Moving Wall on Thursday morning in Glocester, Vallor was proudly wearing the camouflage bush hat heâd kept in his pack as a lance corporal in Vietnam.
