This is not hyperbole – tomorrow, December 31, is our most important fundraising day of the year. [EWG] [EWG] Dear friend, This is not hyperbole – tomorrow, December 31, is our most important fundraising day of the year. Simply put: If we don’t reach our fundraising goal for the day – $58,725– it could put EWG’s work in serious jeopardy. It’s our last chance to both bring in the critical funds needed for the year ahead and for our donors to show their support for an organization they count on to keep their families safe and healthy. More than 3,500 donors have already stepped up to help meet our fundraising goal. Because you’ve been such a strong supporter, we’re hoping you’ll be one of the additional 250 donors we need to help reach our end-of-year goal before midnight tonight. [Will you be an end-of-year donor? If you give right now, you’ll take advantage of a matching gift from one of our generous donors, so your $10 donation becomes $20, $50 becomes $100, and so on.]( This is EWG’s 30th anniversary year, so we’ve been looking back on all of the incredible work we’ve done over the last three decades. One theme is clear: the longer we’ve been around, the more groundbreaking and impactful our work has become. Over the past year, we succeeded with some of the most crucial work yet — thanks, as always, to supporters like you. • We discovered that the amount of “forever chemicals” known as PFAS in fish is so dangerous, that eating just one freshwater fish could be equivalent to drinking contaminated water for a month! • We sounded the alarm on PFAS polluters trying to shirk responsibility for the contamination crisis they created. • EWG’s journalism project, The New Lede, revealed that FOR DECADES the agrichemical company Syngenta plotted to hide scientific evidence showing a link between their pesticide paraquat and Parkinson’s disease. • In California, we enacted bills banning four of the worst food additives and some of the most toxic cosmetic ingredients. Those are just a few of our accomplishments in 2023. And of course, we’re always updating the resources you count on, like Skin Deep®, the Shopper’s Guide to Pesticides in Produce™ and the Tap Water Database. Friend, the truth is that EWG provides you with information that no one else can to help you live a healthier life in a healthier environment. We challenge the powerful forces — whether it’s multinational corporations or our government — to demand that our water, air, food, and personal care products are safe. [If you value EWG’s work, I urge you to make a gift toward our end-of-year fundraising goal. This is one of the best times to give because of the matching gift that doubles your impact.]( Wishing you a happy and healthy new year! The team at EWG [DONATE NOW]( KNOW YOUR ENVIRONMENT.
