[Environmental Working Group] California has just banned chlorpyrifos, a neurotoxic pesticide linked to brain damage in kids. But this chemical would still be allowed in the rest of the U.S. That's outrageous. [Tell the EPA it’s time to follow California’s lead and finally ban the neurotoxic pesticide chlorpyrifos!]( This is big news, friend. California has just banned chlorpyrifos, a neurotoxic pesticide linked to brain damage in kids. But this chemical would still be allowed in the rest of the U.S. That’s outrageous. The EPA was scheduled in 2017 to ban this pesticide, but the agency has refused and has been fighting court orders for two years! Studies by the EPA’s own scientists show that chloropyrifos impairs children’s IQ and brain development. Enough is enough. It’s time for the EPA to put public health ahead of pesticide industry profits. [Tell the EPA it’s time to ban chlorpyrifos! This brain-damaging pesticide shouldn’t be anywhere near our food or our kids.]( The EPA cancelled its scheduled ban of chlorpyrifos just weeks after then-EPA Adminstrator Scott Pruitt met with Dow Chemical, the largest manufacturer of chlorpyrifos. Since then, EWG has collected more than 100,000 signatures asking the EPA to reconsider and ban this hazardous chemical. In August 2017 the courts ordered the EPA to ban this chemical within 60 days. Again the EPA refused to act in the public’s interest and appealed the decision. Now they have until July 19 to make a final decision. We need to make sure the new administrator, Andrew Wheeler, makes the right choice. But it’s not going to be easy. Can we count on you to stand with us? [TAKE ACTION: Tell EPA Adminstrator Andrew Wheeler to follow California’s lead. The EPA should put our health ahead of corporate profits.]( Thanks for standing with us, friend.
