Scott Pruitt, the Environmental Protection Agency administrator, is scrapping the Clean Power Plan. To be clear, the purpose of the Clean Power Plan was to cut U.S. greenhouse gas emissions 30 percent by 2030, and it was projected to prevent thousands of early deaths and 140,000 to 160,000 asthma attacks in children. There seems to be no program at the EPA meant to protect the public, particularly children, from pollution that Pruitt doesn’t want to dismantle.
