It's time to take action. Donate to Everytown today and your gift will be triple matched by Mike Bloomberg. [–]( Make a year-end donation and triple your impact on Everytown's work to end gun violence. [Give before midnight on 12/31 and Mike Bloomberg will triple your donation to Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund.]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Hi, As a parent, my top priority is the safety of my children. When news broke this spring of yet another horrifying school shooting—this time at The Covenant School in my hometown of Nashville—I felt sick with grief. Our children deserve better. Soon after the shooting, I joined other musicians to play at the candlelight vigil to honor the victims and survivors. There, I saw parents who had lost children, children who had lost friends, and an entire community that had lost its sense of safety. Together, we grieved. After such a tragedy, it is so important to take the time to process grief and honor the lives that have been taken or changed forever. And then it's time to take action. Ending gun violence is an issue I've long cared about. I #WearOrange on National Gun Violence Awareness day in June. I've played benefit concerts to support gun violence prevention efforts. After the Covenant School shooting, I joined my friend Amy Grant in pushing Tennessee Governor Bill Lee to take meaningful action to end gun violence. And I'm going to keep showing up to remind elected officials that urgent action is needed. Our lives—and our children's lives—depend on it. [Sheryl Crow stands on a stage before a concert wearing a gray sleeveless shirt with the Wear Orange logo printed in orange letters.]( I am so inspired by the work that Everytown, Moms Demand Action, and Students Demand Action are doing to make sure that every child can live without fear of gun violence in their schools, homes, and neighborhoods. For over a decade, they have challenged the gun lobby, helped pass life-saving gun safety laws at all levels of government, and made it a winning issue at the ballot box. And they've built a massive grassroots movement of volunteers and advocates that's changing the conversation about gun safety in America. I am proud to be part of this movement with you. Our collective action is bringing us one step closer to a future free from gun violence. Now, it's so important for us to work together to keep the movement to end gun violence going strong. [That's why from now through the end of the year, Mike Bloomberg will triple match your donation to Everytown Action Fund, Moms Demand Action, and Students Demand Action. Donate today and triple your impact on their life-saving work.]( Now is the time to take action to end gun violence.
