New York is putting Glock and the gun industry on notice [–]( Hi– For decades, Glock has known that its guns can be easily converted into illegal machine guns in a matter of minutes with cheap, quarter-sized devices, now called Glock switches. With a switch, Glock pistols can fire 1,200 rounds per minute—faster than many machine guns. It should be harder to build a machine gun than IKEA furniture. Glock guns are uniquely easy to convert into illegal machine guns, which is why New York is putting Glock and the gun industry on notice. Two bills introduced today will stop future sales of easily convertible guns, like Glocks, in New York AND require gun manufacturers to ensure that their guns can't be easily modified with switches. Hundreds of our volunteers have already shown up to the capital in Albany urging their legislators to take action to let Glock know: [Fix the problem or stop selling your guns in our state.]( [SEND A MESSAGE]( Glock was the number one manufacturer of recovered crime pistols between 2017 and 2021, and Glock pistols are popular with criminals in part because of how easily they can be converted into machine guns. AND Glock has known for decades that its guns can be easily converted into machine guns, yet it continues to sell these uniquely modifiable pistols and profit from them as they endanger our communities. [Glock should be held accountable for selling guns that are uniquely easy to convert into illegal machine guns. Send a message to your representatives today telling them to support this fight to create a safer New York.]( Thank you so much for being a part of our movement, New York Advocacy Team Everytown for Gun Safety As a movement of Americans fighting for common-sense gun policies, we depend on contributions from supporters like you to fund important work to reduce gun violence.
