A potential client recently engaged me and Jihi about a new private intel contract - but they wanted some proof from us. Greetings Everyday Spy, A potential client recently engaged me and Jihi about a new private intel contract - but they wanted some proof from us. FIrst, they wanted us to prove we really were former CIA officers. Each year that goes by, I find this request even more amusing. A basic Google search on my name alone gives all the vetting details you could want - from pulitzer-prize winning newspapers to crowd-sourced social media giants. But in addition to public records, I have private proof I can share when needed. And the client was satisfied with that. The second requirement from the client was to prove that Jihi and I were in fact a high-performing, high-functioning team. Iâll be honest - this requirement threw me for a loop at first. If youâve been through my [OPTHINK Master Course]( on building a spy mindset, then you know all about the CIA 4-square team concept I teach. Jihi and I are obviously 2 of the 4 blocks in that square, but the other two blocks are still missing (for now) from our business and our private intel practice. But before I could give my standard CIA explanation, I found out the client had a test of their own in mind for both of us. To prove our value, the client paid to put us through a new workplace performance test known as the Kolbe Index. Our results are what you see in the image above. In a nutshell, the Kolbe Index gave the client the proof they were looking for. Jihi and I are complimentary in all 4 categories, with no overlap and no deficiencies, and above-average results in 3 of 4 categories. We are not a perfect team, but our results gave objective proof that we are a high-performing team. The area where we had average performance was known as âImplementer,â which generally relates to those who build/create/invent physical objects. Obviously our trade is one that shies away from physical evidence, so you can imagine the client was satisfied with those results as well! The Kolbe Index was new to me, and it may be to you - but it certainly struck me as a useful tool for quickly identifying an individual (or teamâs) intrinsic value. The test isnât cheap, though. Our new client paid $50 per test for Jihi and I. And Iâm sure the Kolbe Corporation has many more variations out there for folks looking to understand their professional value. CIA and leading US Intel Agencies use the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) as the primary tool for profiling candidates, targets, and assets. For me and Jihi, the Kolbe Index just confirmed results weâve known for more than a decade thanks to CIA and the MBTI. That is why MBTI is your starting place for the OPTHINK spy mindset master course. Once you understand your own MBTI, how to use it, and how to crack the MBTI in others, [you can take control of 90% of all social situations.]( The last 10% is just a matter of convincing others to do what you want them to do - and that is the real benefit of everyday espionage.
