These proxy wars threaten the very stability of everything we know to be normal… [Image](https://) Greetings Everyday Spy, The war in Israel is only ONE head of the Hydra. The news reports on it as if it’s an isolated event, fought between Israel and Hamas. But they couldn’t be further from the truth. The conflicts in Israel, Ukraine, Syria, Yemen, and (soon) Taiwan are interconnected proxy wars. On the surface, they are fought by unstable, corrupt governments and rag-tag rebels. Yet, they are supported by the most powerful nations in the world: The United States, China, Russia, and Iran. As these proxy wars expand, they threaten the very stability of everything we know to be normal. From the way we travel to the food we eat… Europe has already felt real pain due to the proxy war in Ukraine. Which has crippled much of Europe’s natural gas supply. Governments have had to scramble to prevent residents from suffering in the cold winters. Germany had to set up warming centers in the winter of 2022, so people wouldn’t freeze to death due to energy shortages. The death figures for Germany in December 2022 were 19% above the comparative figure of the four previous years. And the US has seen record gas prices, food prices, and overall inflation rates. But that’s just the start… Because modern proxy wars are known to disrupt energy supply chains severely. When bend comes to break, we’ll see massive shocks to current energy demands. Higher energy costs lead to lower agricultural output and higher product prices. Greenhouse farmers in Northern and Western Europe have been closing up shop due to increased cost, leading to lower overall output for everyday Europeans. And the USDA Economic Research Service has already noted moderate impacts on US agricultural production. The US is strategically isolated from much of the world, but it will not keep us from the disastrous effects of prolonged proxy wars forever.
