Hamas never had anything to gain from attacking Israel… [Image](https://) Greetings Everyday Spy, The one question everyone dances around right now is, “What is Hamas’ goal with attacking Israel?” If you ask different people, you’ll get conflicting answers – and almost always they’ll be wrong. The truth is, what’s happening in Israel and Gaza is more about Iran’s goals than anything else. The question SHOULD be: what does Iran get out of Hamas attacking Israel? Here is what Iran has gained so far since the start of this war. And you better believe they still have more to gain. 1. Saudi Arabia cut off peace talks with Israel All available info seems to point to this point as the main goal of the attack. Immediately after Israel’s response, Saudi Arabia put their peace talks on ice. What’s more, the Saudi government has openly condemned Israel’s military response, further eroding their fragile relationship. 2. Iran reopened talks with Saudi Arabia After seven years of silent and bitter rivalry, the two nations reconnected. Saudi Arabia and Iran are two of the most powerful nations in the region. Iran has a stronger army, but Saudi Arabia has a lot more money (not to mention they’re friendly with the US). If Iran can court Saudi Arabia into stronger diplomatic ties, Western power in the Middle East will be under serious threat. 3. Israel has lost both face and support Across the globe, support for Israel is bitterly split. The US Government has expressed unconditional support to its Middle Eastern ally, but popular support among civilians is a different matter. And in the wake of the Gaza hospital explosion, public views of Israel are deteriorating across the world. 4. The US is distracted between Israel and Ukraine Iran and Hamas capitalized on the US’ internal problems. The US Government is struggling to come to an agreement on how to fund Ukraine and Israel. And even now, Ukraine is expressing concern over the West’s ability to continue funding it in the face of the Israel-Gaza crisis. 5. Israel is sinking resources into a losing battle Israel may put an end to this incursion with a violent fist, but they still lose in the long run. Much of the damage is already done – Israel lost its peace talks, Iran started courting Saudi Arabia, and public perception of Israel is dropping. Only time will tell if Israel has a longer-term vision than immediate retribution. Something that might help them win back what they’ve predictably lost. Hamas never had anything to gain from attacking Israel. Whether they know it or not is irrelevant. Because they’ve always been a pawn for a bigger nation to use in its [secret intel war.]( If you want to dig deeper into how this is happening – then it’s time to step into Shadow Lessons.
