I introduced the kids to the movie ‘SpaceJam’ today. Greetings Everyday Spy, I introduced the kids to the movie ‘SpaceJam’ today. It was an awesome experience! After the movie ended, we played [MONSTARS vs. TUNE SQUAD]( in the living room for another 30 minutes. It turns out my daughter, Alai, has a heck of a layup for and my son Sina gets great air… jumping off a sofa in the signature Jordan dunk pose. My genuine thanks to Netflix for making it possible for my kids to live in UAE, meet Michael Jordan, and dance to the same soundtrack that played at my high-school senior prom! Watching the movie with them was an absolute joy. Never in history has anyone called watching SpaceJam an ‘absolute joy.’ But I’m saying it in all honesty right now. If you have kids in that magical 2-9 year range, give it a try. Not only do you get to relive a soundtrack that was inexplicably popular in 1998, but you also can’t help but recall memories of Saturday mornings with cereal and Looney Toons cartoons in the 1980s. Sometimes I wonder if my kids are going to be able to connect with American friends because they spend their childhood traveling the world. Then I have a couple hours like today with SpaceJam. Or an unexpected Post Malone song pops up on iHeart radio. Or a new Star Wars movie gets advertised on TV. And in each case, the kids light up and their glorious American-ness shines through. They’ll be fine. God Bless the USA!
