Things are just heating up! [Image](https://) Greetings Everyday Spy, Last Wednesday, Biden doubled-down on two Trump-era policies. Quietly agreeing with Trump is not new to the Biden Administration... But it was finally big enough that it made it into the headlines! First, he signed an executive order banning American investments in Chinese industries. This was done to prevent US money from flowing into the Chinese military. And it adds onto Trump-era executive orders that had similar aims. The industries include semiconductors, quantum computers, and AI. All of which are common in super advanced, high tech weapons. Second, Biden extended Trump’s national emergency order regarding Hong Kong. You might remember when Beijing clamped down on Hong Kong’s autonomy, just before the COVID crisis. This gives Biden direct, executive power to fight China economically in Hong Kong. Chinese state-run media was quick to condemn the move as, “unscrupulous gangster logic.” What the news won’t say is that these are just small tit-for-tat political moves in a long-term secret war. For the last several years, China and the US have been taking political pot shots at each other. About a month ago, China banned exports of Gallium and Germanium to the US. These minerals are crucial for missile systems and other forms of military technology… not to mention the smartphone in your pocket. Shortly after, they updated their espionage laws to make it easier to arrest Americans on Chinese soil. While these aren’t critical hits, they’re a clear warning shot across the bow. Biden’s recent actions are simply the next steps in the political volley. They are a response to China’s actions, which were a response to the US’s actions, and so on. What happens next is escalation. The back and forth will only get worse… Hong Kong is a proving ground for China’s plans with Taiwan. China has been taking notes on the US’s response to both Ukraine and Hong Kong. And they’re perfecting their plans to “reunite” Taiwan in the very near future. As they get closer to realizing their goals, the US will increase the intensity of these bans, sanctions, and orders. All in an effort to tie Beijing up in trade wars, economic roadblocks, and political tension. And China will respond in kind. They can’t afford not to… I go deep into the makings and purpose of secret wars like this in [Shadow Lessons.]( These private interviews with covert operators take you behind the scenes of the secret wars going on around the globe every day.
