Find your mind’s sweet spot Greetings Everyday Spy, Imagine the world’s most elite spies

Find your mind’s sweet spot [Image](https://) Greetings Everyday Spy, Imagine the world’s most elite spies… Planning elite missions and high-stakes tasks… In a dumpy old library. For years, CIA’s library in Langley, VA served as the situation room for some of the sharpest minds on the planet. The problem in the Agency’s early years was that the government wasn’t always quick to update stuff — even the most crucial library in the US. (Sound familiar?) In the 1950’s, Americans were finally enjoying more peaceful and prosperous times. But the dust from WWII was still settling while the Cold War was revving up. In 1957, CIA’s library chief realized this was no time to let the library fall by the wayside… Alexander Toth saw officers working and planning in an old, outdated room filled with books. They were closed in like pigeons. He knew this couldn't go on. In 1957, Toth wrote that CIA’s library had to become the most advanced learning spot on the planet. Agents needed a place where they could dive into deep intel while still being able to relax, talk, and let their minds breathe. And when he brought this to their attention, no one at the Agency could argue. To stay ahead in the game of shadows, they needed to evolve. So for the last 67 years, the CIA Library has grown and changed as the world around it changed. Recently, the library was renovated again. It now features top tech, conference rooms, a small theater, and many other resources… All offered in relaxed, spacious, and relaxing rooms. When asked about the most recent library update, CIA Director William Burns said nothing is more important. He summed it up as: “A place that’s capable of hosting VTCs, private coaching sessions, podcast recordings, brainstorms between teammates and lectures by visiting speakers all at the same time. I’m also happy to report that it still has board games.” The threats to our nation continue to evolve, but the idea of a library serving as the gateway to knowledge remains stronger than ever. You can relate to working in difficult conditions. It kills your creativity. It’s hard to find your flow state. Everyone has their own areas where they work best… Whether it's a coffee shop, a library, or an outdoor spot with wifi. Even a cubicle can be renovated with an addition or two to ramp up your mind. Your workspace deserves to be suited to whatever will bring your best. Godspeed, #EverydaySpy Andrew Bustamante P.S. Constant learning is a top priority at CIA. You can follow suit and access a diverse, one-of-a-kind library that helps you break the barriers in front of you with [a wealth of knowledge few outside CIA ever see.]( This email was sent to {EMAIL}.
