But you can do better than him Greetings Everyday Spy, Did you know that Steve Jobs once screamed right in the face of Starbucks CEO, Howard Shultz? Back in 2008, Shultz was in Cupertino, CA, visiting the Apple campus. He had just returned as Starbucks CEO after stepping aside in 2000. And the coffee shop giant, at that time, wasn’t doing too hot. There, Shultz met Steve Jobs. They discussed an upcoming collaboration around Starbucks and Apple mobile ordering and payment. Shultz told Jobs that the board of directors he inherited when he returned was dropping the ball, big time. He couldn't see eye to eye with them, and the company was a mess. Jobs got right in his face and screamed: “You go back to Seattle and you fire everyone on your leadership team…F--king fire all those people.” This threw Shultz for a loop. He was concerned about who would pick up the slack caused by canning all of his directors. Jobs said, “I promise you, in six months, maybe nine, they'll all be gone.” He was right. Except for one, the general counsel, they were all gone within 9 months. Sometimes, you have to take drastic actions to right the ship.
