The inspiration you seek is everywhere… [Image](https://) Greetings Everyday Spy, We live in an amazing world. Recently, I read about the Namib Desert beetle that lives in the dry area in southwestern Africa. And this beetle, since it lives in a desert without much water, harvests water from thin air! How? Its wings are equipped with some sort of wax. And when it’s foggy, this beetle leans its body into the wind… droplets of water collect on its waxy wings…and drip down into the beetle’s mouth. Amazing. But what’s even more amazing is that engineers are now using the exact mechanism from this beetle’s wings to create nets that harvest water from thin air. This will bring drinking water to millions of people who don’t have access to it right now. The lesson here is: knowledge, skills, and solutions are usually transferable from one field to another. For example, skills I learned as a CIA agent that I used to protect the freedom of the US can also be used to: - Negotiate with vendors, bosses, clients… - Get the information you need… - Make first contact… - Approach the guy/girl you like with confidence… - Stand out or blend in, depending on the occasion… And so on.
