Scott Perry is happy to derail any and legislation he can. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ [Eugene DePasquale for PA]( [York Dispatch Headline: EDITORIAL: GOP needs to get behind Violence Against Women Act]( {NAME}, it’s clear that Scott Perry has no interest in or supporting any Central Pennsylvanian facing domestic violence. In his classic fashion, our “representative” stood with his party, stood against our values, and happily voted against the Violence Against Women Act, a bill that since 1994 has passed without conflict -- until extremist Republicans stopped getting their way. [Scott Perry’s actions would leave millions of people facing abuse without any federal support. That’s why we need you to send a message to Scott Perry by signing our petition and letting him hear the truth from you: it’s time to start supporting victims of domestic abuse NOW!]( [SIGN ON HERE]( The VAWA is a groundbreaking piece of legislation that has not only made domestic violence and sexual assault a crime, but has provided millions in federal funds to support PA shelters. But that’s not it. Rep. Perry also voted against the Family Violence Prevention and Services Act -- the only federal funding source dedicated solely to domestic violence services and programs. For forty years, it has been reauthorized and funded with bipartisan support— but Scott Perry STILL voted no. Eugene, on the other hand, used his time in office to decrease the backlog of untested rape kits and the thousands of unanswered calls to the Child Abuse Hotline. He made lawmakers and party leaders mad, but that didn’t stop him, and he got the job done. But Scott Perry doesn’t care about helping anyone but himself. As long as he has support from the far-right fringe of his own party, he’s more than happy to turn his back on us, ignore his responsibilities, and cut funding to help support victims of abuse. [We need all of our grassroots supporters to sign on to our petition and demand that Scott Perry stand up for victims of domestic violence.
