The benefits of Paid Family Leave are clear... ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ [Eugene DePasquale for PA]( {NAME}, Paid Family Leave is an important tool for supporting families all across Pennsylvania. In our state alone, nearly 150,000 children are born each year. When working mothers and families don’t have the time to take off work, they are forced to make the impossible choice between keeping a paycheck or leaving the workforce to take care of their loved ones. This burden is only increased for our marginalized communities and families of color. In Pennsylvania, nearly 60% of women of color either lead households by themselves or support nearly half of its income. But this isn’t just a women’s issue. The Pennsylvanian workforce is getting older, and more and more men want to be involved in the care of their families, but outdated legislation won’t allow them to do so. [That’s why we need to support the fight for our own Paid Family Leave policies. If you think it’s time that PFL is guaranteed for all workers, add your name to my newest petition today.]( It’s clear that we can’t wait for Washington to act. Our Representatives in Congress don’t understand the difficult decisions families all across the state make every day. But we understand, and we know what’s best for our families. PFL policies would guarantee 12 weeks of nearly fully paid leave that would give breathing room to help bond with a new baby, become a caregiver for a sick family member, or give a needed break for any family in transition. But the only way this legislation can pass here is with our voices. [So add your name to my newest petition today, and let’s make PFL a reality in the Keystone State!]( Thank you, Eugene DePasquale Eugene DePasquale has dedicated his public service to tirelessly fighting for working people, our senior citizens, and our most vulnerable.
