{NAME}, Yesterday the New York Times shed light on [an effort by Congressman Scott Perry]( and a high level Justice Department official to overturn the legitimate results of the 2020 Presidential election. The details of the report and the extent to which Congressman Perry went to undermine our democracy are horrifying. For the sake of the American people and the principles that serve as the bedrock of our country, I am calling on Congressman Perry to resign immediately and for the Justice Department to open an investigation into his actions and the actions of other senior Trump DOJ officials. Elected leaders should be protecting our democracy, not attempting to undo it. Steps must be taken to hold those who participated in this dark chapter of our history accountable and ensure it is never repeated.
