When I get to The Electric Ballroom about a dozen people dawdle outside. Per the producers’ instructions, they wear baggy jeans, tank tops, and t-shirts; they’d banned us from wearing skinny jeans, saying we needed to look like we’re at an Oasis concert in 1995. I’m wearing a turquoise polo and jeans. Some of the other extras, just teenagers, have taken trains from Manchester, but most hail from London and the surrounding counties. Everyone has dark hair. They say their parents come from China, Japan, Hong Kong, the Philippines and South Korea. “Why is everyone Asian?” a half-Thai guy asks. A Japanese model, hired for the shoot, scoots up to me and asks if that is the real Oasis on stage. “Honey, the real Oasis are white guys,” I tell her. The "Acquiesce" video swapped Noel and Liam for an all-Asian version of the band, with legions of screaming fans—and I was one of them. Take for instance, Magic Johnson's famous smile. It’s the grin that summed up Magic’s duende—charisma to the nth degree. He was personable, adorable, cute. Not exactly qualities that you’d usually associate with a six-foot-nine point guard. Then again, Magic was a revolutionary talent whose stardom quickly rose outside the confines of the game. He was a killer, and after his rookie year, NBA champion and Finals MVP. But the smile won you over. Now, about 40 years later, someone had finally managed to replicate it: Quincy Isaiah, who plays Johnson in HBO’s Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty, which returns for its second season on August 6. Isaiah not only conveys Johnson’s ease and charm, but yes, he has that smile locked down. [Read More](   [The Right Product for Every Type of Hair. I'm talking about the jeans that are destined to become your every-weekend pick. The sport coat that'll be the go-to for every big work event. The boots that'll see you through the winter with ease. It doesn't happen often, but when something just clicks like that, it's worth paying attention. Which brings me to the Patnoflex loafer from Italian brand Astorflex. The first thing that popped into my head when I saw the easygoing slip-on was, "That looks like summer vacation."
