I’ll admit that one of the reasons that I got into running was for fashion. I dug the shoes. I appreciate Brooks and Hoka because both are so squarely focused on running, as opposed to Nike or Adidas, and both have loyal followings. There’s a reason practically every running store carries Hoka and Brooks. If you want to go full fam on a brand, though, Hoka makes shoes in kids sizes. It makes recovery slides. Heck, it even makes hiking sandals for those days you just want to walk in the woods. Brooks does not. The brands themselves are extremely different, though. Mother Sister Borowicz has made quite a mark on the Pennsylvania legislature in the five years since she first got elected. On the day Pennsylvania swore in its first female Muslim legislator, she delivered an invocation that declared that “at the name of Jesus, every knee shall bend.” During the pandemic, she proposed a bill that called for a statewide day of atonement, because “it is the duty of nations as well as of men to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God, to confess their sins and transgressions in humble sorrow; and with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon, and to recognize the sublime truth.” [Read More](   [8 Best 4K TVs You Can Buy in 2024]( [8 Best 4K TVs You Can Buy in 2024]( TVs have come a long way in the past few years. For owner Patrick Batt and his customers, it's an important bastion of forgotten histories. Owner Patrick Batt opened this store in 1996, long before the Starbucks and the SoulCycle moved into the neighborhood. Before the current renewed interest in gay historic material (though for some, that spark never died) saw vintage magazines sell for upwards of $100 a pop on eBay. Before the guys wearing ’80s-inspired short shorts and Chuck Taylors on Fire Island were out of diapers, and before popular Instagram accounts began posting old magazine spreads, with photographers sharing their new pastiche pictorials. Blame the Internet for the death of retail stores, but it’s what saved AutoErotica, thanks to the Hail Mary of a GoFundMe drive started by Batt’s friend, photographer Bradley Roberge, during the pandemic. The store is also sustained by its popular Instagram (curated by Roberge), which lures folks in from near and far. New York City. England. As far off as Malaysia, which blew Batt’s mind.
