DESERT
Dreaming
Ocotillo Sunset, 48 x 36 in The ocotillo is an iconic desert plant in southern California and Arizona. The tall, stately ocotillo is most beautiful in spring, when it is covered in tiny green leaves and bright red flowers burst from the ends of each stalk. This painting captures a scene from the Mojave Desert, in Joshua Tree National Park. [View: OCOTILLO SUNSET]( Lemon Blooms, 11 x 14 in Yellow flowers bloom in an abundance of sunny color during a desert super bloom. This painting captures the desert wildflowers at Borrego Springs, in southern California. Erin Hanson applies impasto brush strokes of oil paint are laid side by side, without overlapping, in her signature technique of Open Impressionism, creating a mosaic of color and texture across the canvas with her brush. [View: LEMON BLOOMS]( Palm Impressions, 30 x 48 in Looking up into the palm tree fronds at Indian Canyon Palm Oasis is the quintessential experience of Palm Springs. This painting captures the beauty and color of the desert with wide, expressive brush strokes and subtle color variations. [View: PALM IMPRESSIONS](
Joshua Glow, 34 x 46 in Joshua Tree National Park is most beautiful at sunrise and sundown, when the white granite boulders begin to glow with warm hues of apricot and buttercream, while the shadows turn shades of plum and eggplant (I must be hungry.) [View: JOSHUA GLOW](
Emerald Oasis, 36 x 22 in Indian Canyon Palm Oasis in Palm Springs, California, is lush and green all year around, even in the middle of summer. The trickling stream of water stays cool under the arbor of ferns and palm fronds. This painting captures the emerald colors of the desert oasis with thick, expressive brush strokes in Hanson's unique Open Impressionism style.
