Crystal Light II We are proud to be selling Crystal Light II on consignment. This is the second painting in Erin's Crystal Light Series. Erin Hanson's Crystal Light Series is her most iconic collection of works. Beginning with Crystal Light in 2013, Erin re-invisioned how she could capture the crystalline quality of light by fracturing her brush strokes and separating colors into their pure components. Inspired by Paso Robles, California, this piece captures the colors of late afternoon light and radiating shadows. Artists and critics have spent the past decade dissecting and attempting to recreate Erin's signature luminous effect.

Triptych of Trees The rolling hills of Paso Robles have provided endless inspiration for Hanson over the years. Her favorite time to paint is in the spring, with the hills turn bright green for only a month, before turning back to their usual shade of burnt gold. This painting captures a coastal fog lifting in the early morning. This triptych was created on three canvases, each 1-1/2" deep. The painting is continued around the edges of each canvas, and the piece is designed to hang with 2" gaps on the wall (unframed.) This painting was included in the exhibition [Open Impressionism: The Works of Erin Hanson](, a 10-year retrospective and study of the development of Open Impressionism at The Goddard Center in Ardmore, OK (2018). Crack in the Rock "Crack in the Rock" was one of the first paintings Erin Hanson ever painted in the style of Open Impressionism, painted while she was developing her style and rock climbing at Red Rock Canyon, Nevada. Her style of painting in distinct brushstrokes separated in mosaic-like shapes was developed in her attempt to capture the planes and dark cracks in the rock faces she loved to climb. Erin's iconic style "Open Impressionism" is now taught in art schools worldwide, and her pieces hang in the permanent collections of many museums in the United States. This rare painting was made available for us to sell on consignment. This painting captures Red Rock Canyon with an abstracted style. "Crack in the Rock" is a sport climb (meaning the route had bolts in it) in Red Rock. "Crack in the Rock (Early Work)"
