No images? [Click here]( Wildflowers in Bloom, 30 x 40 in Fresh from the Easel I am happy to share my newest paintings with you. Leaves are changing color all around me, and we just had our first autumn rain up here in Oregon, so I forsee a new collection of wintery paintings coming soon! Do you think your home would be more beautiful if you had more art in it? Enjoy, Erin Hanson F R E S H from the E A S E L Dawning Saguaro, oil on canvas, 20 x 30 in Dawning clouds are illuminated in hues of sherbet and butter yellow. The springtime saguaros stand tall and stately against the sky. Each brush stroke is thick and impressionistic, conveying a sense of movement throughout the painting. Northern Coastline, oil on canvas, 24 x 36 in Ecola State Park overlooks the rocky northern coastline near Cannon Beach, Oregon. The warm hues of the rocky cliffs are set off by the rich tones of the evergreen forest growing along the high ridge. Distant swirls of turquoise waves beat a peaceful rhythm against the coastal rocks below. Indian Palms, oil on canvas, 36 x 24 in Indian Canyons near Palm Springs is alive with richly colored palm trees that grow abundantly around the oasis. Thick beards of palm fronds hang from all the palm trees. This painting captures the high peaks of the distant mountain range and the beautiful hues of the desert. Pine and Sunset, oil on linen, 25 x 34 in A sunset full of riotous color exclaims across the sky in this northwestern painting. The brush strokes are loose and impressionistic, creating a mosaic of color and texture across the canvas. New Petites Dappled Coast, oil on canvas, 11 x 14 in The view from the tip of Monterey's peninsula is best experienced at sunset. The rich turquoise and violet shadows contrast with the warm hues of the setting sun. This petite oil painting captures all the vibrant beauty of Monterey's coastline. Hidden Cypress, oil on canvas, 16 x 20 in Peeking through the cypress trees near Point Lobos in Carmel, you can see the turquoise waters below swirling around the rocks. The white coastal foam sparkles in the light, glinting between the boughs of the Monterey cypress trees. Oak and Sky, oil on canvas, 9 x 12 in Baby blue sky peeks between the branches of a gnarled oak tree in Carmel, California. The crossing branches create abstract shapes like mosaic tiles. Wild Blooms, oil on canvas, 16 x 20 in Wildflowers in northwest wine country are captured in loose, expressive brush strokes. The curving petals are alive with motion, the tall flower stalks waving in the wind. She spent much time in the school’s art room working diligently on some new project and at home she used to perch on the bathroom sink drawing her face in the mirror, over and over again, practicing. Her first insight into the world of art as business was her engagement at a mural studio during her teenage years. Following the advice of the adults around her that her artistic career “wasn’t practical”, Hanson decided to focus on her other passion, Biology when she went to college. She earned a Bachelor of Science at UC Berkeley. Starting a business after her studies, she moved to Las Vegas, and on her way to a new city, she was fascinated by a desert sunset over the stark mountain peaks. Overwhelmed by a burning desire to paint again, she promised herself she would create one painting every week, despite everything else. It was fifteen years ago and she is still keeping her promise...
