She's a self-proclaimed "pro-life extremist," and yet, she opposes gun reform legislation and background checks that could have saved my daughter Jaime's life. Jaime was murdered at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. And, since that day, I have not stopped fighting for gun reform that could have saved my daughter. Just one week after, I confronted members of the Florida GOP at a town hall on gun safety. They couldn't even look at me and refused to work with Parkland survivors to make it more difficult for people to access weapons of war like the one that killed my Jaime. Since the Parkland shooting, members of Florida's GOP have continued to oppose several efforts to reduce gun violence. Nothing will bring Jaime back, but helping changemakers like Eric Lynn – a leader who wants to end mass shootings and gun violence – gives me purpose.
