Great. Just great. We'd be holding our heads, shaking our fists and gnashing our teeth in despair if it wasn't for the fact that there's something to look forward to on the horizon – most notably, a few stellar music festivals that are heading our way over the next week and will put a pep back in our step after a depressing few days. If music can't help at a time like this, what can? Luckily, the festivals on this week's calendar are of a top-notch quality. [Castlepalooza] returns in 2016 with a new, earlier slot on the summer calendar (July 1st - 3rd) and a bigger and better line-up than ever before, including Villagers, Caribou, Field Music, Cat Power, Jurassic 5 and many, many more. Alternatively, the [Groove Festival] at Killruddery House in Wicklow offers a family-friendly festival with some excellent live acts from Ireland and the UK – not least indie stalwarts Aslan and The Blades, newcomers The Academic and Britpoppers Ocean Colour Scene. Last but certainly not least, the [Dublin City Block Party] also takes place this weekend in the grounds and surrounds of the Tivoli Theatre, with the likes of the amazing Kelis, Todd Terje, Dusky, Matthew Herbert and all sorts of eclectic and interesting acts on the weekend-long bill. If that's not enough to rouse you from your slump, we don't know what is. Now, go forth and [festival]!
