But there’s still hope for tech investors But there’s still hope for tech investors                                                                                                      [Energy and Capital Header] Practical Investment Analysis for the New Energy Economy The Dark Side of the CHIPS Act by Keith Kohl | November 3, 2022 After 18 months of negotiation in Congress, President Biden finally signed the CHIPS and Science Act into law in August 2022. The bill will provide $52 billion in subsidies and incentives to boost America’s struggling chipmakers and reduce our dependence on foreign semiconductors. But Morris Chang, founder of the world’s largest semiconductor company, calls the CHIPS Act “a very expensive exercise in futility.” He doesn’t see the bill having any impact on American companies, which he calls “noncompetitive” over the long term. But in the short term, there’s a much more pressing issue. There is a dangerous shortage of one critical ingredient chipmakers can’t make chips without. It’s as rare as platinum and extremely difficult (and expensive) to extract and purify. And unfortunately, the CHIPS Act doesn’t address this shortage BEHIND the chip shortage in any way. But one American semiconductor announced it has sufficient supply of this coveted ingredient — and its [shares are positioned to skyrocket]( in this environment... even as other chip stocks continue to spiral. The shortage is so severe that some customers have already started paying 20–30 times the normal price to get the chips they need. The trend is likely to continue for the foreseeable future. So the battle is underway... The real opportunity for investors comes with figuring out who will survive. According to my research, only one chipmaker is positioned to thrive. Its preparations over the past few years have made it all but immune to the current shortage... And it could even move closer to “winner take all” status as its competitors fight over the scraps. As the scenario unfolds, the company could see its stock surge 2,900%. That’s enough to turn a $10,000 investment into $300,000.
