[Energy and Capital Header] Practical Investment Analysis for the New Energy Economy How to Make Millions From the Mother of All Monopolies Luke Sweeney | Sep 28, 2022 This is a big one. Itâs incredibly rare to see this level of market dominance within such a massive industry. And by monopoly, I really do mean monopoly. One single company is responsible for building the absurdly complicated machines that manufacture the newest generation of computer chips. Thatâs it â just one company serving arguably the most important market on the planet. And for now, only five companies â TSMC, Intel, Micron, SK Hynix, and Samsung â are big enough to afford each machineâs hefty $200 million price tag. The high price moat, plus a few critical exclusivity deals, means only these five companies can make chips smaller than 5 nanometers â the kind used in every single top-tier computer or smartphone. Itâs a cutting-edge monopoly that would make Andrew Carnegie blush. But Iâd guess that very few investors have even heard of the company before. Hereâs how we can make some money from the companyâs stranglehold on the industry. They Call It âTriFuel-238,â and Itâs Oilâs Worst Nightmare [Tri Fuel]Renewable energy recently clashed with fossil fuels, and neither side won. Wind and solar just aren't ready yet. Oil and gas are dirty relics of the past. But âTriFuel-238â is here today. Itâs not technically renewable, and itâs nothing like fossil fuels. The Biden administration has already spent billions of dollars to develop this tech before it falls into the hands of a hostile country. Itâs the most powerful fuel the world has ever seen, hands down. Just a pound of it could power an entire neighborhood for a year. This material is practically extraterrestrial â and no other company has access to it. Thereâs still time to invest. [Donât wait a single second longer.]( ASML: The One and Only ASML (originally Advanced Semiconductor Materials Lithography) is the team of pioneering geniuses behind extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography. The company manufactures extremely complex machinery that uses light to etch tiny pathways into semiconductor chips. Computer chips are basically tiny road maps full of interconnected routes that shuttle electrons back and forth. Each unique design gives the chip its functionality â the more pathways, the more functions per chip. [1. EUV lithography] As chips get smaller and smaller, these pathways need to shrink accordingly. Thatâs where EUV comes in. The machines use narrow bands of ultraviolet light to shrink the pathways down to mind-blowingly small sizes. Itâs the only known method of building the chips needed for everything from game consoles to new cars. [2. ASML EUV] These are some of the most complicated machines ever assembled. ASMLâs supply chain is an 800-company behemoth that operates in over 60 countries. Itâs no wonder other companies arenât rushing to start up competition. While ASML has a beautiful monopoly that other companies can only dream of, it also comes with a downside for the industry: a massive bottleneck. ASML is quite literally the only company making EUV machines. That means the Big Five chipmakers are entirely beholden to the companyâs production schedule. Scaling up production of the sub-5-nanometer chips canât happen overnight, even if the industry desperately needs it. Chinaâs "Smart Missile" Could Bring You a Six-Figure Payday Itâs a new type of "smart missile" so deadly that it can strike targets as far as 1,242 miles away faster than a speeding bullet. Thatâs the equivalent of firing a missile from New York City and hitting a target in Miami in less than 12 minutes. And for our local American forces... Chinaâs new weapon is the sum of all of their deadliest fears. But for the everyday investor? [It's the greatest wealth-building opportunity of the century.]( ASML itself has also found certain parts difficult to source. The EUV machines themselves require many of the chips that have been hit hardest by the ongoing shortage. Itâs a perfect Catch-22: Without more chips, we canât make more chips. Itâs yet another unseen headache that accompanies a market with such little redundancy â and itâs not getting better anytime soon. The Mother of All Monopoly Bottlenecks TSMC manufactures about 50% of all the semiconductors on Earth and about 90% of all the advanced chips. [3. TSMC market share] Weâve discussed the pitfalls of this mini-monopoly many times before, most recently in regard to Chinaâs potential military action in Taiwan. Itâs still not as dangerous as ASML cornering 100% of the EUV market. It makes the market prone to disaster. A single isolated incident could send shock waves through the entire semiconductor industry. Take what happened during COVID, for instance. TSMC was forced to slow operations due to lockdowns, sending the rest of the planet into complete disarray. It prompted immediate action from the rest of the world. President Joe Biden in particular opened up the coffers and dedicated a huge amount of funding toward fixing Americaâs nonexistent semiconductor industry. The $50 billion bill is one of the biggest domestic tech investments weâve seen in decades. It wonât establish the U.S. as a chipmaking leader overnight, but [it]([will]([pump some much-needed capital into a few small-cap companies â not just giants like Intel](. Thereâs much more to the story than just that. I can't include everything here, but [check out this detailed investment guide to one of Bidenâs biggest handouts to date](. To your wealth, Luke Sweeney
