This is effectively an end to legal abortion in Arizona. Horrified doesn't begin to cover how I feel. This law was passed in 1864 — before Arizona was a state and before women could vote or own property. Now, this law will insert politicians into the most intimate decisions a person can make about their body. It will take away rights and freedoms that generations of Arizona women have fought for. And it will mandate prison time for anyone who helps a person get an abortion, which could include friends and family as well as medical professionals. When Donald Trump and my opponent, Juan Ciscomani, say abortion should be left up to the states, this is what they mean. [Arizona Supreme Court Upholds near-total abortion ban. ]( Unlike my opponent, I'm unapologetically pro-choice, which is why I'm proud to have earned the endorsements of EMILYs List, Planned Parenthood, and Reproductive Freedom for All. In Congress, I will fight to codify Roe v. Wade into law. But I can't do that without defeating Juan Ciscomani, who has voted again and again to restrict abortion access.
