[Remove yourself here from all my emails.]( Hey , Have you ever felt like you're doing a lot but things aren't moving as fast as you'd like? I bet we all have, right? Obviously, the answer isn't to work harder... and yet, it's what most do. It’s so easy to stay in work-mode, constantly doing things and checking off tasks. But what if you’re working on the wrong things? You might be climbing a ladder only to find it’s leaning against the wrong wall. Just like the tool I shared last time, success is all about making the right decisions and then doing the work. Years ago, I stumbled upon Keith Cunningham’s book, The Road Less Stupid. It introduced me to the concept of setting aside dedicated time to think – a practice that’s been transformative for me. This isn’t just any thinking; it’s about asking yourself the right questions to ensure you’re focusing on what truly matters. Here are a few powerful questions to get you started:    1.  As I look back at my most significant losses, stupidest decisions, and biggest mistakes, what are the fifty most important lessons I have learned?    2.   What are the growth opportunities that I have been postponing because they require extra effort or are outside my comfort zone?    3.   Knowing what I know now, if I could start all over again, what changes would I make to my business model? What is preventing me from making those changes today? Personally, I’ve set aside my Thursday mornings for a couple of years now specifically for this purpose. I find going to a different location helps me think more clearly. While that’s not required, it can make a big difference. I also like to move, like walking – that’s where the best ideas happen. It’s also important not to simply answer these questions, but to REALLY think hard about them without any distractions. For example, right before my trip, I did a 12-hour walk (inspired by the book The 12-Hour Walk). This kind of deep thinking can reveal insights that you wouldn’t get from a rushed or distracted session. In fact, it's what led to selling all my businesses to make space for something new. I encourage you to carve out some thinking time this week. The clarity and insights you’ll gain can be a game-changer. Talk soon, Wilco P.S. Any particular topics you'd like me to write about? I'd love to hear them. Just hit reply! [Wilco de Kreij] Thanks for reading ! 🙏 My mission is to give small businesses the marketing power of giants.
