The results of this report could have significant influence on whether the Fed will decide to raise interest rates again before the end of the year. Major Earnings ð° Carnival Corporation [CCL] ... The sportswear giant released its fiscal Q1 earnings late Thursday, and the results exceeded the market's expectations. Nike reported stronger-than-expected EPS of $0.94 per diluted share, and easily topped the $0.76 EPS estimate. Sales grew slightly from a year earlier, hitting $12.94 billion for the quarter, but fell short of the $13 billion consensus. NKE is leading the S&P 500 with a 9.6% gain in the wake of the earnings update. My Take: NKE has suffered a huge pullback over the past six months, but this report shows that the stock's recent declines may have been overdone. Structure Therapeutics [GPCR] - Last Close: $37.47 A clinical breakthrough is boosting Structure Therapeutics. The micro-cap biotech announced positive results from a Phase 1b study of GSBR-1290 and released an update on the drug candidate's progress. GSBR-1290 was shown to be well-tolerated with no adverse event-releated discontinuations in the Phase 1b ascending-dose study. The company said it also expects to receive top-line data for the drug's Phase 2a type 2 diabetes cohort in Q4. Structure also took the opportunity to announce a $300 million private placement equity financing round this morning. Shares of GPCR are up 59.5% in early premarket trading. My Take: It looks like GPCR's drug candidate has promise, and this stock has been trending higher since mid-August. It could be worth watching. Blue Apron [APRN] - Last Close: $5.49 Blue Apron has just agreed to a buyout deal. The meal-kit delivery company agreed to be acquired by Wonder Group in a tender offer valued at $103 million. Blue Apron investors will receive $13 per share for their holdings, representing a 130% premium to APRN's Thursday closing price. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2023. APRN is this morning's #1 stock with a 133.7% gain on the news. My Take: APRN had a rough run in the stock market, so I'm glad to see it's going back to a private buyer. However, there's no upside left in this trade at this point. OpGen [OPGN] - Last Close: $0.201 OpGen is trending after a recent announcement. Late Thursday, the company said it requested the SEC consent to a withdrawal of an S-1 registration statement filed on July 14th, 2023. In the filing, OpGen said the statement was never declared effective, and no securities have been issued or sold under the registration. News of the canceled registration statement rallied shares of OPGN to the top of the charts. It's currently one of this morning's top movers with a 114.7% gain. My Take: OPGN is trading wildly this morning. However, given the pedestrian nature of this catalyst, I doubt the rally will have legs. That's it for today! Thanks for reading, and good luck out there! Best Regards, Chris D. -- Elite Trade Club P.S...
