Here's what moved the market today: Markets 📈 Stocks returned from the weekend with a pep in their step. The Nasdaq [+1.1%] led the way with a steep rally, while the S&P 500 [+0.6%] and Dow [+0.2%] trailed behind. The Russell 2K [+0.1%] also notched a small advanced. The stock closed today's session with a record-breaking market cap of $796 billion. Shares of Berkshire Hathaway Class A [BRK/A +0.7%] are also hovering near their all-time high of $557,027 per share. The stock also boasts a profit-to-earnings multiple of just 9.23, which looks like a compelling value. If shares of Berkshire can break through their all-time high, their positive trend could continue. However, this stock is known to plod along at a relatively modest pace, so it's best-suited as a long-term play. Today's Top Winners and Losers 🔥 SigmaTron International [SGMA] $4.04 (46.8%) announced its fiscal Q1 2024 results this morning, and the results fell short of expectations. Solowin [SWIN] $3.28 (33.2%) continued to pullback in the wake of its NASDAQ IPO last Thursday. Podcast One [PODC] $4.76 (25.5%) also pulled back after a successful NASDAQ IPO last Thursday. The podcast company was formerly part of LiveOne [LVO -3.4%], but it was spun off on the recommendation from consultants. Canopy Growth Corp. [CGC] $1.69 (+81.3%) published a note from its board recommending shareholders to vote in favor of all proposals at its upcoming shareholder meeting on Sept. 25th. CGC has been on fire since late August, when rumors begin circulating that the Biden White House was considering loosening federal cannabis laws. Crinetics Pharmaceuticals [CRNX] $26.08 (+63.3%) said paltusotine for acromegaly met its primary and secondary endpoints in a Phase 3 trial. MarketWise [MKTW] $1.81 (+31.1%) rallied after it announced legendary investment analyst Porter Stansberry would join its board of directors. That's it for today!
