Good Morning! Hey, there! It's Chris from Elite Trade Club, here to give you this morning's premarket trading news. Today is Thursday, July 20th. I hope you have a great day in the market. Let's get ready to trade! Markets 📈 U.S. large-caps notched modest gains on Wednesday, with the Dow's 0.3% advance leading the way. The S&P 500 added 0.2%, while the Nasdaq posted a gain of less than 0.1%. The Russell 2K beat the large-caps with a 0.4% gain. Futures are mixed in early trading. S&P 500 contracts are down 0.1%, but Dow futures are up 0.1%. Sponsored [The #1 Energy Passive Income Investment for 2023]( It's not a stock, bond or private company... However, investors weren't impressed, and both stocks are suffering declines in today's premarket. The lackluster reports have shaken investor sentiment towards Q2 earnings, despite reassuring results from U.S. bank stocks earlier in the reporting season, and we may see broad selling pressure in today's session as a result. What to Watch Today 👀 Jobless Claims The job market is always a key read for investors, but it's become a lot more crucial over the past few weeks. Investors are beginning to feel optimistic about the U.S. economy's chance to avoid a recession in the coming months due to the relatively strong job market. However, their confidence could quickly dissipate if the job market begins to crack, so jobless data could have a more pronounced impact in the months ahead. Major Earnings 💰 Blackstone Inc. [BX] ... Today, a Wall Street Journal exclusive revealed Paul Singer's Eliott Management has taken a position in the company. Eliott, an activist investor hedge fund, has reportedly taken a "significant stake" in the drug manufacturer, although reported couldn't determine its exact size. The report also said Eliott has been talking to potential director candidates about joining a slate of nominees to run in a proxy contest. CTLT is this morning's top S&P 500 stock with a 6.8% gain. My Take: CTLT could benefit greatly from Eliott's interest in the company, as the hedge fund prides itself on maximizing shareholder value and helping companies live up to their full growth potential. This could be a swing opportunity. PainReform [PRFX] - Last Close: $7.11 Shares of PainReform are soaring in an epic relief rally. The specialty pharma firm announced after Thursday's close that it had regained compliance with Nasdaq's minimum big price requirement. PainReform effected a 1-for-10 reverse stock split earlier in July to lift its share prices and regain compliance with the exchange's $1 minimum bid rule. The company has officially regained compliance as of yesterday's aftermarket, and shares are rebounding ahead of today's open. PRFX is one of this morning's top performers with a 36.2% gain on elevated trading volume. My Take: PRFX has had a wild couple of weeks, but it could begin to settle down after Wednesday's announcement. It still has an intact uptrend, and it has potential to continue its march higher in the coming weeks. BioSig Technologies [BSGM] - Last Close: $1.30 BioSig Technologies has a powerful new partner. This morning, the company announced its BioSig AI subsidiary was selected to partner with high-tech chip darling NVIDIA [NVDA]. BioSig AI will join the NVIDIA Inception program, which brings together companies that are "revolutionizing industries with artificial intelligence." The program assists up-and-coming AI companies with critical aspects of product development, prototyping, deployment, and much more. BSGM is one of this morning's hottest stocks with a 22.3% gain, and it's one of the premarket's most active stocks. My Take: BSGM was trading sideways before this announcement, but it was trending higher before that. I think this news could prove to be a crucial pivot point, and this AI stock could be worth keeping an eye one. Gorilla Technologies [GRRR] - Last Close: $2.28 A newly-announced partnership is boosting shares of Gorilla Technologies. This morning, the AI IoT & cybersecurity firm announced a new strategic relationship with British Telecom. Under the arrangement, Gorilla Tech will deliver an innovative container identification and damage detection solution for the Port of Tyne in North England. Gorilla's VP of European operations said the company is "delighted to work alongside BT... to bring a cutting-edge solution to the market." GRRR is up 12.2% on news of the partnership. My Take: GRRR has been very active lately, although it has recently pulled back after a dramatic spike. AI stocks like this one are producing lots of trade opportunities lately, so GRRR is definitely on my watchlist. That's it for today! Thanks for reading, and good luck out there!
