We're seeing several triple-digit gainers in today's premarket. Get the details inside... [Image](www.elitetrade.club) Good Morning! Hey, guys and gals. It's Chris from Elite Trade Club, here to give you the day's premarket trading news. Today is Wednesday, August 17th. Let's get ready to trade! Markets 📈 The S&P 500 added 0.2% on Tuesday, while the Dow gained 0.7%. The Nasdaq slid to a 0.2% loss on the trading session, and the small-cap Russell 2K posted a small fractional loss of less than 0.1%. Today, futures are in the red in early morning trading. S&P 500 contracts are currently showing a 0.7% loss. Sponsored [The Most Critical Metal for Global Economies]( 📈 The soaring demand for this "red rock" may be the most important development in 2022. It's key in the transition to the new green energy economies. Bloomberg News warns: "Within a decade, the world may face a massive shortfall of what's arguably the most critical metal for global economies." But, one company is out to change all that, and, if they're successful, it could skyrocket share prices and drive massive returns for early investors. [Get a Full Report on This Potential Breakout Here]( Premarket Highlights 🔎 - SPAC activity has slowed to its lowest level in five years as investors move towards less speculative assets in the face of worsening market conditions. - Inflation has surpassed 10% in the United Kingdom. It's the highest rate in 40 years and the worst among western countries. International 🌍 Asia Japan's Nikkei 225 rallied 1.2% overnight, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng and China's Shanghai Composite added 0.5%. Europe European stocks are down, with Germany's DAX showing a 0.9% loss. The UK FTSE 100 is down 0.4%, and the Euro Stoxx 600 has lost 0.3% Major Earnings 💰 - Lowe's Companies [LOW] ... The life sciences stock lifted its fiscal 2022 guidance thanks to a strong order book and a continuing recovery in China that is set to boost its earnings results. Agilent lifted its full-year sales and earnings guidance to a range of $6.75 billion to $6.78 billion, surpassing analyst expectations. The company also expected earnings ranging from $5.06 to $5.08 per share, which also topped the Street's $5.07 target. Agilent is leading the S&P 500 with a 5.6% gain. My Take: Agilent appears to be rebounding after struggling for several months. This guidance hike could be the beginning of more good things to come. Bed Bath and Beyond [BBBY] - Last Close: $20.65 Bed Bath and Beyond had been on an absolute tear the past few days. The home goods retailer has officially become a meme stock, and the added attention is pushing the stock to huge gains over the past week. Social media traders targeted the stock because of its extremely elevated short ratio of 42.5%, and their efforts have skyrocketed share prices. BBBY was one of the most talked about stocks on the Wall Street Bets sub-Reddit this morning, and the stock is up 24.7% on strong trading volume. My Take: Social media traders are once again abusing the short-sellers with this move, and it's paying off big. The only questions are, how much higher can it climb, and when will the bottom fall out? Don't find out either answer the hard way. Quoin Pharmaceuticals Ltd [QNRX] - Last Close: $5.01 Quoin Pharma is soaring in what looks to be a major short squeeze. The pharma stock is rallying despite no recent news on the company. However, it's short ratio of 140.9% seems to explain why it's soaring. Quioin is expected to report its Q2 financial results tomorrow, and investors are seizing the opportunity by buying up shares in the face of widespread shorting. So far, the effort seems to have paid off. QNRX is one of this morning's top-performing stocks, and it's currently showing a 35.7% gain on active trading volume. My Take: This short squeeze looks promising if you can get onboard in time. We could see a big move after its earnings report tomorrow, but tread lightly. It's still not clear whether the bulls or the bears will win out on this one. Endo Intl. PLC [ENDO] - Last Close: $0.37 Endo is surging after a morning press release. This morning, the specialty pharma firm revealed it would file for bankruptcy as part of a restructuring agreement with its senior secured debt holders. The company said the move will result in a substantial reduction of debt and will strengthen its financial position. As part of the agreement, the company also formed a $550 million trust fund to payout on claims from its ongoing opioid trials. ENDO is trading actively with a 13.5% gain. My Take: Buying a company with financial troubles is rarely a good move, but there could be some opportunity for short-term gains in this stock.
