The insurance stock is on the rise after posting a double-line beat on its Q2 report. Travelers reported earnings of $2.57 per diluted share on revenues of $9.14 billion. Wall Street analysts only expected the company to post an EPS of $1.97 on revenues of $8.29 billion. Travelers also maintained its quarterly dividend at $0.93 per share. TRV is one of this morning's top S&P 500 stocks with a 3.8% gain Our Take: Travelers' report showed declines in earnings and profits from last year's second quarter, and the stock is still locked into a downtrend dating back to the end of March. Think twice before you jump in this one. Nokia Corp [NOK] - Last Close: $4.70 A strong earnings report is lifting shares of Nokia in today's premarket. The telecom stock reported earnings, revenues, and comp sales growth that beat the Street's expectations for its Q2 report. Nokia reported EPS of (€)0.10 on revenues of (€)5.87 billion in the second quarter, beating analysts' expectations of (€)0.08 per share earnings on sales of (€)5.61 billion. The report also showed Nokia's revenues grew at an impressive rate of 11% in the second quarter. NOK is trading actively with a 7.7% gain. Our Take: Nokia has had its struggles as of late, but the stock is pushing to break out of a downtrend that stretches back to the start of the year. There could be some solid upside in this stock if it can maintain its recovery. Addex Therapeutics [ADXN] - Last Close: $0.9173 Addex Therapeutics is moving higher after an early morning press release. The developmental-stage biotech firm said it completed a reduction in the nominal value of its issued, authorized, and conditional share capital from CHF1.00 to CHF0.01. According to the press release, the move came "following the expiration of a period of two months after the third creditor call in The Swiss Gazette of Commerce in accordance with article 732 of Swiss Code of Obligations." The nominal change in share value is expected to become effective on the SIX Swiss Exchange on July 26th. Addex CEO Tim Dyer said the move is "an important step to removing technical barriers and ensuring future financing flexibility" that will help the company advance its drug candidate portfolio. ADXN is one of today's most active stocks, and it's up 43.5%. Our Take: Slashing the nominal value of its shares will give Addex more financial flexibility, and it could help the company expediate development of its drug candidates. Tuesday Morning [TUEM] - Last Close: $0.1987 Tuesday Morning is rebounding despite a crop of not-so-good news. Shares of the off-price retailer plunged 30.0% on Wednesday on rumors that the company is considering a second bankruptcy filing. In addition, BWS Financial recently downgraded the stock from "buy" to "neutral" and slashed its price target from $2 to $0.50. However, the stock is rallying in today's premarket, and it's already recaptured all of its Wednesday losses and then some. TUEM is one of this morning's top-performing stocks with a 76.3% gain on active trading volume. Our Take: TUEM's Wednesday sell-off may have been overdone, judging from today's big rally. However, the long-term outlook for this stock remains uncertain.
