Regulatory filings revealed the biopharma firm received proposed labeling for its AXS-05 product candidate from the US Food & Drug Administration on June 24th. The proposed labeling from the FDA with respect to AXS-05 as a treatment for major depressive disorder. The company says it's currently reviewing the proposed labeling, and it will reply to the FDA to secure a final labeling agreement soon. AXSM is up 48.7% on news of the regulatory update. Our Take: AXSM has come down a lot from its 52W highs, but this press release shows the stock could have some catalysts ahead of it. There could be value in this trade, but tread lightly because this stock has been volatile in the past. OncoSec Medical [REV] - Last Close: $0.7868 Shares of OncoSec are up big just a day after the company received some good publicity. The clinical-stage biotech company announced Friday morning that its recent publication in Molecular Cancer Research will be featured as the June 2022 "Editor's Pick." The piece, titled Intratumoral Electroporation of Plasmid Encoded IL-12 and Membrane-Anchored Anti-CD3 Increases Systemic Tumor Immunity, summarizes pre-clinical results from OncoSec's next-generation cancer treatment approach, IL-12 combined with a polyclonal T cell stimulator. OncoSec says the treatment is effective in creating an antitumor immune response in patients and reducing suppressive effects of T-reg cells. OncoSec's warm reception in the peer-reviewed scientific journal is driving shares higher in today's premarket. ONCS is up 47.4% on active trading volume. Our Take: I'm not a medical expert, but OncoSec's cancer treatment sounds promising, and it's getting attention from the right folks. This one could have long-term potential if you can get in at a good price point. Epizyme [EPZM] - Last Close: $0.9540 Epizyme is rallying on news of a buyout deal. Ipsen SA has agreed to acquire Epizyme in an all-cash deal valued at approximately $247 million. Under the terms of the deal, shareholders will receive $1.45 per share, representing a 52% premium over the stock's Friday closing price, plus one contingent value right per share. The primary focus of the acquisition is on Epizyme's lead medicine, Tazverik (tazemetostat), a chemotherapy-free EZH2 inhibitor, which was granted FDA Accelerated Approval in 2020. The deal is expected to close in the third quarter. Our Take: There's not a lot of upside left between EPZM's current price and its buyout bid. Acutus Medical Inc [AFIB] - Last Close: $0.5384 Acutus is surging today after a series of major business updates. This morning, the arrhythmia management company announced it had received FDA clearance for its expanded suite of "left-heart access products." Acutus will now commercially launch the AcQCross Qx sytem for use with its TruSeal and FXD delivery system for the Watchman LAAC Device, which enables surgeons to conduct specialized cardiac operations more efficiently. The expanded launch could be a boon for Acutus's revenue growth in the months ahead. Investors are taking the news as a plus. Shares of AFIB are up 100.6% on active trading volume. Our Take: This move seems a little overdone, but this stock could be worth watching for an entrance opportunity on the way back down That's it for today! Thanks for reading, and good luck out there!
