Big news from my household over the weekend: My little baby boy, TZ, just took his first steps while playing in the sandpit at the park… just a day shy of turning 10 months old. €‹ I’m both proud of him to the extreme, and utterly heartbroken – a conundrum I never understood until I became a mom. Since Saturday, he’s been flexing his newfound walking skill any chance he gets. He pops up near the couch… takes a few steps toward his toy on the floor… picks up the toy… carries on towards the table… grabs a piece of bread on the floor… squats to put it in his mouth… chews and pops up again towards the bar cart… (You see where this is going. It's going EVERYWHERE and NOWHERE.) He’s bouncing around from place to place, exploring every nook and cranny, and getting lost along the way. Could this be exactly what your Instagram follower is doing when you tell them to visit your “link in bio”? The “link in bio” feature used to be all we had to drive our followers to our freebies and offers… And here’s how I *used to* get an Instagram follower over to my offers: #1: Create an Instagram post. #2: Write a caption and at the end, ask people to click the “link in bio.” #3: They navigate out of the post and over to my bio. #4: They tap the link and wait for the page to load. #5: They find the place on the page where I’m offering the freebie or offer. #6: They fill out their information.. #7: They check their email for the confirmation and delivery. ___ But between each of those steps, people drop off. 😳 A recent survey shows that in an average sales funnel, only 3- 5% of people will follow all of the steps. So what can we do to reduce that drop-off and get our offers into the hands of our target audience? Reduce the number of steps! 🙌 Today with [DM automation](, it takes just 10 seconds for someone to comment on a post of mine, get a DM from me, sign up for my offer, and get into my email system…without ever leaving the app!
