I've been low-key saying this for a few weeks now... =â ...And now Instagram has confirmed that it's giving "small" creators more reach and visibility in front of accounts that don't follow them. What this means is... âï¸ Every reel you make will now be shown in front of people who are interested in your topic, but don't necessarily follow you yet. âï¸ If your reel performs well and these non-followers engage with your reel, it'll be shown to an even larger audience. âï¸ Your followers will also see your reel in their feed. WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU: You've gotta make content for people who know nothing about you or your business. You'll want to entertain, educate, or inspire someone (in terms of the "value" you're giving), and construct the reel so that the viewer is enticed to follow for more content like the reel â yours! â that's in their feed. This is why HOOKS are so important. ð¤ What is a hook and why is it so powerful? A hook is typically the first sentence thatâs designed to grab the viewerâs attention so that they are âhookedâ in and have to watch to learn more or find out what happens next. Honestly, I think this is a great money-grab for Meta, but for a business owner? I'd just double-down on making really great reels that organically reach my target audience of non-followers.
