Both of us came up in public service as district attorneys, and over the last decade, we’ve fought hard to protect our communities and provide opportunities for all families. She’s been a mentor and friend for more than 14 years, and our relationship has helped shape how I view public service. I often refer to her as “my quintessential big sister,” because she has always shown up for me when I needed her. In fact, when I first won my race to become Prince George’s County Executive, one of the first calls I received was from her.
