This is torture   Every year billions of animals are exported alive from Europe, on a harrowing journey -- and millions die on the way. The EU has the power to end this cruelty. [baby lamb]( [ Sign the petitionÂ]( {NAME}, A sea of drowned sheep is disturbing. But what’s even more disturbing is that the capsizing of a boat transporting 14,000 sheep wasn’t enough to raise the alarm on the urgent need to ban live animal exports in Europe. The capsizing was actually business as usual. Millions of animals die in transport every year. And, when they live, they are beaten with batons, shocked with electric prods, cramped in hot-as-hell boats and trucks, dehydrated, and stressed. But there’s hope. Earlier this year, Germany banned live export and other European countries like Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Sweden, have shown support for tighter regulations in the EU. But we need a massive popular outcry to push big players like France to support the regulation in Brussels. [Tell the EU: No more animal cruelty, ban live exports NOW]( Every year, Europe exports more than 1.6 billion live animals. Piglets, chickens, veals and other sheeps are tortured on never ending trips to their fattening or slaughtering destinations. This only happens because consumers and citizens alike have no clue about this scandal. But the word is out and countries in Europe can’t bear to look the other way no more. Unfortunately, without your help and the support from hundreds of thousands of Ekō members across the globe, the protests of EU member states like Germany and Sweden will be ignored. Billions of animals can’t afford to wait any longer. They need your signature now: [Tell the EU: No more animal cruelty, ban live exports NOW]( Whether we campaigned on pesticides, human rights, or deforestation, Ekō and its members have a proven record of successfully pushing the EU to do the right thing. And once the EU does something, the world follows. So take action today to put an end to this cruelty.
