Global banks are fueling Israel's crimes Ă‚

Entire families were killed in their sleep when Israel targeted their tents with heavy missiles. Ekō has been working round the clock to stop the flow of weapons to Israel, and it’s working. We helped push Axa to divest from Israeli banks that are financing Israel’s war crimes, and we’re gearing up to launch a major investigation to track every penny European banks give to weapons manufacturers that are involved in Israel’s abuses – putting the companies in the spotlight and forcing them to end their complicity in genocide. We’re making a difference but this new massacre of displaced Palestinians reminds us that now more than ever we need to keep up the pressure on these financiers. Add your name to the global petition, and share this widely: [Banks, insurers and pension funds: stop doing business with companies supplying arms to Israel]( The International Court of Justice has confirmed that Israel's occupation of Palestinian land is illegal. The Advisory Opinion of the UN's highest court makes clear that helping to maintain the occupation now would be illegal too. But that's exactly what our banks and pension funds are doing when they help finance Israel's arms supplies. UN experts have warned that if these institutions fail to respond now, they risk becoming complicit in war crimes. Ekō campaigners across the globe are working hard to expose these banks and pressure them to divest from the weapons companies doing business with the Israeli government. From BNP Paribas which is the biggest European lender to Israel’s biggest arms suppliers, to New York’s Citigroup which led a consortium of banks that helped the Israeli government buy its F35 jets – we are going after them and we won’t stop until they divest from the genocide and illegal occupation. Some may say that governments should decide this sort of thing, and bankers should just stick to their jobs and make money. Indeed, our politicians have a lot to answer for, and some of them may end up behind bars some day for their part. But bankers are people too, and with enough public pressure, they can be moved to use their power for good. [Tell the bankers: don’t do business with companies supplying arms to Israel]( More than 1,000 Palestinian children underwent leg amputations between October and November 2023 alone, according to UNICEF. The numbers today would be higher still, only Israeli bombs have decimated what’s left of Gaza’s hospitals and roads. It looks like the nightmare will never end, and cutting Israel’s arms supplies will take forever. But as Nelson Mandela said: It always seems impossible until it's done. Let’s help bring more pressure to bear on the banks, insurers and pension funds today – whatever it takes to stop the bombs. [ Sign the petitionÂ]( Thanks for all that you do,
