Free the Whales   A new law could end whale and orca captivity for good. Together we can ensure this law gets passed without any last minute U-turns. Sign now: Ban whale capture and breeding in the US! [ Sign the petitionÂ]( {NAME}, The world is a dark place for captive whales and dolphins -- stolen from the oceans or born in a tank: depression marks their lives as they swim endless circles in tiny tanks, often all alone. They are denied to live long and emotionally complex lives with their pod family and friends and die prematurely after a time of suffering and pain. We have a chance to save whales from captivity and breeding for good in the US! Lawmakers are proposing a new law: The Strengthening Welfare in Marine Settings (SWIMS) Act -- to keep these gentle giants out of water parks and aquariums captivity and save them from lifelong misery. As a global community of millions, we can make sure that the SWIMS Act passes and inspires governments everywhere to do the same, paving the way for a world-wide ban on whale captivity. Will you join us in protecting whales from captivity? [Tell Members of the US Congress: Support the SWIMS Act -- ban whale capture and breeding!]( of March 2024 there are at least 55 orcas held in captivity in marine parks around the world. All these animals experience extreme stress their entire lives, leading to poor health and shorter life spans. 100% of all captive male orcas suffer from dorsal fin collapse, as they spend their time swimming in circles. Swimming pool-sized water tanks are not the right home for these giant, highly intelligent, social, empathetic animals. They belong in the endless spaces of the oceans and seas of our planet. This is our chance to protect marine mammals like orcas and whales from future torture. We have already succeeded in our biggest petition ever, with 1.7 million signers, moving SeaWorld to end its Orca Captivity program. Today, we can help introduce strong laws that protect all whales and orcas in the US. Are you in?
