Hey {NAME}, This week's email is all about standing out. Wednesday's Talks Session This Wednesday the 24th at 11AM PST ([timezones here]() join us for Shaundai Person's talk "Standing Out as a Non-Traditional Applicant" and Tyler Clark's "Master the JavaScript Interview". Whether you're currently on the market for a new job or not, both contain advice worth checking out. 👉 [RSVP for Wednesday here]() Speaking of standing out, I've been having a lot of conversations lately with developers at different points in their career. Some who are looking for their first job, others who are a decade or more in. It's been kind of surprising how similar the challenges are between the two. If you have some thoughts (or even rants) about job searching and climbing the career ladder and you feel like sharing, hit reply and let me know. Negotiating Your Salary Keeping with the job theme, there's never a bad time to learn about negotiation. Josh Doody, author of Fearless Salary Negotiation, [joined Joel on the egghead podcast]( to discuss the topic. Josh shares several tactics, advice on things to look out for, and discusses the role of equity and other benefits. Also be sure to [check out Josh's egghead Talk recording]( for even more salary negotiation tips. Cloudflare Workers Challenge One of the best ways to stand out is to not only share what you're learning, but to apply it elsewhere. Kristian Freeman's Intro to Cloudflare Workers course provides you with an opportunity to do both. As you [watch the course](, Kristian guides you through some of the fundamentals of the Cloudflare platform and how to take advantage of their edge network. Once you've finished watching the course, apply what you've learned to [the Portfolio Project Challenge](). This isn't a 'tracing' project— you're provided some guidelines for base functionality, and from there it's up to you to make it your own. [Check out the project challenge](), and let us know what you make! Thanks for reading, Taylor [Unsubscribe]( | [Update your profile]( | 12333 Sowden Rd Ste B, PMB#97429, Houston, TX 77080-2059
