Hey {NAME}, Managing state is fundamentally the most important thing your app does. Even something as dead simple as "hello world" printed to the console is an exercise in creating, storing, and displaying some piece of state to the user. The concepts of model, view, and controller (MVC) as a pattern were developed to combat the hydra that is application state. Object oriented programming and functional programming exist as tools to manage and understand state. It's not surprising that the most popular content on egghead is direct advice on how to sanely manage state in your UIs. As programmers we naturally want to tame the chaos, and we prefer to not reinvent the wheel every single time we build an application. No two applications are truly the same, and some require different solutions for how state is modeled and managed. It's important that we understand our options. From managing state by hand to bringing in a purpose built library to help out. When your application state starts to become complex, leveraging a solid library is a smart move. Maybe you are already using something like Redux in your application? Even if that is the case, you aren't going to want to sleep on today's release! Today we'd like to present [Manage Complex State in React Apps with MobXÂ]- a course by MobX's creator and maintainer Michel Westrate. I asked Michel a few questions: egg: What problem is mobX built to solve? Michel: MobX is designed to enable building web applications with a complex data model in an intuitive and very performant manner. egg: Why should I use mobX in my next React app? Michel: Using React and MobX is currently the simplest way to build component based web applications. "Half the code, twice the fun" is how people describe MobX, or "So simple, I cannot believe it just works". egg: Why wouldn't I use mobX in my next React app? Is there a type of app it isn't a good solution for? Michel: MobX is suitable for building any app that needs to perform CRUD like operations on the state model. It is less suitable for applications that have an append only domain model. egg: Aside from mobX, what's the most useful library I can use to make my development life easier? Michel: Typescript because it makes maintaining large code bases over a longer span of time such a breeze, and tape + tape-run because it is a very straightforward but versatile approach to testing. [Image] [-> click here to spend 28 minutes learning how to manage state with MobX] Even if you aren't building apps in React, [this course] will be a concise look at one solid approach to managing complex state. Flesch reading score

Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
