This new egghead course will show you how optimistic UIs preload data to enhance UX Hey {NAME}, Users want a UI that feels "snappy". They want a UI that responds instantly, and every loading spinner we add to our applications chips away at the experience and perception of quality that the user holds in their head. The nature of modern JavaScript UIs is asynchronous. We make requests, and we get responses. This is the natural order of things and often results in time spent waiting for data to load. These requests and their eventual responses are unavoidable, but we can (should?) do better. We can implement optimistic updates in our application that anticipate what the user might click, and load the data before they do. Optimistic updates don't mean that you will attempt to load every possible scrap of data that the user might request, it means that we will identify and load pieces of data that the user is most likely to need and load that. In many cases, we are loading just a tiny piece of the data the user will want, and using that to display a partial view while the rest of data loads, giving the user context and insight into whatever it is that they are looking at. This immediate feedback can give a strong sense of performance and quality, which is ultimately an upgrade to the overall experience of the user. User experience is dependent mainly on updating the user with new, relevant information as soon as possible in your application. Today Erik Aybar has published a fresh new course on implementing optimistic updates in your own applications. The course is React focused, but the principles and techniques apply to UI development in general. -> [Optimistic UI Updates in React]( (25 minutes) [Image]( Erik put a lot of love and effort into making this course. Flesch reading score

Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
