----HO;klvv;yge Dear Parents, I would like to thank you for sharing your child with me this year. They are a wonderful group of students and I am thoroughly enjoying them! I am really looking forward to working with each of them this year. For August, our thematic unit of study has been the Six Character Traits. We have learned about responsibility and how important it is that we are responsible individuals. We also learned about citizenship and the role each of us play in making our schoo l, community, and world a better place. We have also been investigating a wonderful science unit called âFinding Outâ. The students are learning about variables and how to conduct an experiment. I hope your child enjoyed showing you her/his â helicopters â and telling you about our â black boxesâ and building our âwhirly birdsâ. We will continue with studying the Six Character Traits for another week. In mid - September, we will begin a short thematic unit on the United States. Please note that Monday, Sept. 3rd is Labor Day, so there will be no school. When we return on September 10th, it is Picture Day! Your child should have a picture packet that I sent home with her/him. If your child was absent, there will be some in the office. Eagleridge will be h olding an Open House on Thursday, September 27 th from 6:30 â 8:00. I have a unique situation that I teach all 5 days and I am in a variety of different rooms. I will most likely be in A6 for part of the time and D4 for part of the time. As we get closer to the date, I will let you know where I will be at what time. Important Dates: September 3rd â No school Sept. 10 - Life Touch Pictures September 27th â Open House 6:30 - 8:00 October 4th â Skateland party @ 4:00 October 8th - 12th â Fall Break If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. I work five days a week! Thank you, Holly Evans ----xt;whpc;fbx Dear Parents, I hope you have had a wonderful week and are looking forward to some fun fall activities this weekend. From football games to apple picking, we are all hoping the temperature will begin to match the season ! We have had a very productive w eek at CCEP and between the commencement of our related arts classes and the anticipate d start of Busy Bees programming and our first chapel service next week , we are firmly into our routine and it is gratifying to observe all of our students so actively engaged. Recently, USA Today published a report asserting that early childhood education is one of the best investments that parents can make as it not only benefits children, but taxpayers as well by offering approximately a $4 - $11 return on every $1 .00 s pent. This study was based on students in preschool programs that were followed through age 26. These children were more likely to finish high school and/or college and ea rn more money than their peers. According to this National Institutes of Health stud y, students enrolled in quality preschool programs were less likely to be retained in elementary school , arrested, depressed, sick or involved with drugs. "Good preschool programs can make a strong early impression, allowing kids to thrive and become confi dent learners," the article states. At CCEP, we are committed to fulfilling this assertion by ensuring that ALL of our students receive the maximum benefit of an early childhood education. From our research - based curriculum to our highly qualified teach ers, we are unwavering in our responsibility to nurture and edu cate the children in our care and hope that you will continue to reap the return on your investment here. As we look toward the week ahead, please note the following: 1. Our first chapel service o f the school year will be held on Monday at 9:30. Please know that parents and special friends are welcome to attend. 2. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to our Annual Fund. It is through your contributions that we are able to bridge the gap betwee n our operating budget and instructional needs to provide the best resources for our students and teachers alike. THANK YOU for your support! 3. Due to severe allergies present at CCEP, if your child eats something containing peanuts or peanut butter in the car on the way to school, please notify the carpool volunteer so that we can be vigilant about hand washing prior to taking your child to class. 4. Please do not park on either side of the carpool lane between 8:45 and 9:15 and 12:50 and 1:15. This creates dangerous conditions for motorists and pedestrians alike. If you must park, please use a designated parking space in the lot. 5. The PPO is still in need of volunteers for a variety of committees. If you are willing to assist or simply want to get involved in the life of CCEP, please let me know. We appreciate your service to our school! Also, many thanks to our carpool, pizza, Annual Fund, and Lobsterpalooza volunteers who are already actively engaged. We appreciate you! 6. Our students in K2 - K5 began Span ish instruction this week. As an introduction, the children spent time working on the following concepts: ï· 2's - numbers up to five, greetings (hola and adios) ï· 3's - colors (rojo, verde, azul and blanco) and greetings (hola and adios) ï· 4's - greetings (Hola, adios, me llamo) ï· 5's - greetings and small phrases (hola, adios, me llamo, tengo ____anos) LOOKING AHEAD: 1. Please be aware that there will be NO LATE STAY on Wednesday, October 17 th . ALL students will be dismissed at 1:00 for fall break. Please plan ac cordingly. 2. LOBESTER - PALOOZA - Friday, October 2 6th : This annual CCEP is not to be missed...mark your calendars! 3. CCEP will be CLOSED for Parent Conferences on Tuesday, November 6 t h . Classes will not be in ses sion that day. Thank you all for your continued gifts of âtime, treasure, and talentâ...we are truly grateful for your support of our special learning community. Have a wonderful weekend, Kyley Dear Parents, We would like to thank you for choosing to take lessons in our Private Lesson Program.
