Spyglass Series: Jurassic Life (Ages 9-14) Jurassic Life is an online workshop series 65 million years in the making! Students will have the opportunity to learn about dinosaur evolution and biology from instructor Grayson Kent, all while examining real fossils and paleontological artifacts. We’ll discuss what the Jurassic Park movies got right and what they got wrong as we focus on a different dinosaur for each of the four classes (T. rex, Velociraptor, Spinosaurus, and Mosasaurus)! About the Speaker Naomi Matanick, OTR/L a pediatric occupational therapist specializing in sensory integration therapy, surf therapy, and childhood and infant development. Kids are amazing and dynamic individuals. Yet, they have a lot to conquer. In her years of experience, she has served infants to early adolescents in a variety of areas including sensory processing, physical and emotional regulation, organization of behavior and attention, acquisition of vital motor milestones, motor coordination development, and oral-motor therapy for feeding. Her mission is for each caregiver and child to feel understood and empowered as they are equipped with life-long tools. This "Anywear Academy" is a Live Action Role-Playing (LARP) game to encourage STEM learning and explore the intersection of crafting and technology, particularly for girls. (All genders welcome at the IEA program). IEA's side porch will become a fairy kingdom with key problems for students to solve through wearable tech design, coding, and role-playing. Students will craft wearable technologies needed to complete a series of collaborative tasks and activities. Prior coding experience is a plus but not required.
