Share your talents! IEA E-newsletter June 2021 [View in your browser]( [DONATE]( [VOLUNTEER]( [CONTACT US]( [May 2021]( Happy Returns This past week Yunasa West has returned to Colorado as an in-person experience. We're excited about this return to form and will be bringing you frequent updates and images across social media and this very newsletter. Summer Academy is coming up in just two short weeks and will feature courses that are online and in person. Finally, we're looking to schedule in-person interviews for the Caroline D. Bradley Scholarship. We've been anticipating the return to normalcy for months, and at last, we're turning a corner. With everything we've learned over the past year, online programming will remain a key component of IEA's offerings. The ability to interact in the virtual space has allowed us to further build a nationwide community of gifted youth and their families. That's why we're so excited about the recently announced Summer Spotlight -- a virtual student talent showcase that will enable our entire community to take part and celebrate each other. Keep reading to see the best we have to offer, both physically and virtually. Summer Spotlight 2021 . [Summer Spotlight: Student Talent Showcase]( Please join us on July 14 for an exciting Summer Spotlight as we highlight IEA youth from across the nation in a virtual talent show! Students of all ages are invited to showcase their creativity, talent and innovation through short video clips. Acts may include musical performances (instrumental or voice), dancing, skits, poetry readings, original artwork presentations, magic, science experiments, fashion design, cooking or baking, athletic feats or anything else that ignites our students’ passion. Participants may submit their talent as a solo act, or join together for a group submission. We can’t wait to applaud our talented IEA stars! Interested in sending in a video? Use the link below to register and submit by June 30! [Learn More]( Yunasa West . Yunasa West is back and in person! This past weekend, campers convened in Colorado for a week-long, residential camp experience designed and led by experts in the field of gifted youth. At YMCA Camp Shady Brook, campers are encouraged to grow intellectually, socially, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. Our camp had to pivot to a virtual experience last year, but we're overjoyed to be back in the great outdoors and serving the community in a safe and empowering atmosphere. Each month, IEA will highlight one of our program alumni to let the community know what they've been up to. This month, we caught up with 2005 CDB Alumni, Sophia Barron. What words of wisdom would you pass on to current IEA students? The friendships I built with other CDB Scholars and students at Andover are some of my strongest and longest-lasting friendships today, despite being separated by distance and not seeing them in-person very often. By taking the time to invest in relationships with your peers and IEA teachers and staff while you’re a student, you can maintain these connections wherever you go next in the world.
