In the 2023 Winter edition we saw some massive new features which you can take advantage of to turn your e-commerce store massively profitable. To help boost your store’s conversion, Shopify released 2 features which I’m extremely bullish on. [Shop Promise]( is a delivery badge which helps stores communicate delivery times across their product and checkout pages. If a store has the shop promise badge, then customers know that they are committed to providing fast and reliable delivery. To further build trust with customers, Shop Promise integrates with the Shop app to provide real time tracking on all orders. Furthermore, customer orders comes with a limited guarantee which means if an order arrives after the Shop Promise estimate date, they receive Shop cash & a refund of the shipping fee. These features culminated to a conversion increase of 25% across early access merchants. One of the most time consuming activities for new merchants is crafting product pages and descriptions. Laboriously trying to write copy is one of the most tedious parts of the Shopify experience. However with the release of [Autowrite](, an AI tool designed to write compelling product descriptions in seconds, this part of a merchants experience is greatly simplified. ℹ️ Why this matters By removing the grunt work required to set up a shop, Shopify makes it seamless for aspiring entrepreneurs to sell products online. The beauty of e-commerce is that you can have multiple shops which sell multiple brands, diversifying your revenue streams. Not only this, the ecommerce business has profitable growth on all worldwide platform. In 2021 worldwide ecommerce sales reached nearly 5 trillion. Many people believe that you need to have huge ad budgets to launch a successful ecommerce store, however, [Triangl]( is a bikini brand founded in Australia by Erin Deering who proves this doesn’t need to be the case. The brand’s cult like status was thanks to a clever marketing strategy that prioritised organic growth and word of mouth over paid ads. Deering believed she needed to get Kendall Jenner to promote her bikini for the brand to take off in the USA. There was only one problem, she didn’t have hundreds of thousands of dollars to fork out for a sponsored post on Instagram. Instead of reaching out to Kendall directly, she sent samples of her bikinis to 5-6 of her closest friends. When they started wearing and posting about them, Kendall immediately became curious and Deering woke up to an email from her saying, ‘Hey, all my friends have these Triangl bikinis, can I get some?’ The rest is history, Triangl sold $5m worth of product in its first year and turns over $45m worth of profit annually. 💡The idea Create an e-commerce store selling Ashwagandha supplements. Ashwagandha is an increasingly popular adaptogen, a category of herbs that helps the body deal with stress. Early studies suggest it improves athletic performance and male fertility. Google trends shows that this category is absolutely skyrocketing in popularity & is a perfect candidate for an online store. 👣 Steps to execute Estimated time to revenue: 4 days - Speak with 5-10 users of Ashwagandha in your network to learn about how they purchase them and how they make purchase decisions. You can find them in online communities like Reddit or Discord - Find and contact supplement manufacturers to determine suitability as supplier. Assess product quality, understand minimum order value and price per unit. - Build a simple [Shopify]( store using product images and descriptions from existing manufacturer products. - Set up a pre-order function in Shopify to sell products that you currently do not stock. This will help you to validate product demand and pricing. - Share Shopify store with online communities for feedback and to secure pre-orders. - With validation from pre-orders, negotiate pricing, order stock and deliver to first customers. - To grow, share in supplement communities, market through Facebook & Instagram ads and create content for your Shopify store blog to capture organic search traffic and promote across social channels.
